Seconded European Standardization Expert in India

ETSI Workshop on Security held on 22/6/2015

SESEI attended the workshop to gain insight into this subject of global interest. SESEI attended the

Session 1: Setting the scene having Moderator as Mr Nicholas Witchell, BBC and Panelist as Mr. Adrian Belmonte from ENISA, Mr. Florent Frederik from EC, Mr Chirs Ensor from CESG,UK, and Mr Marc Henauer from MELANI, OIC Switzerland.

Mr Florent shared updates such as;

a) Online Trust & Cyber Security is of critical importance at DG Connect , b) NIS directive is still not fully accepted by member states , c) ITS, Aviation and Smart Grid are most critical infrastructure need to be safeguarded well. d) Digital Single Market has 16 initiatives and 13th initiative is dedicated to Cyber Security.

Mr. Adrian from ENISA shared update on;

a) A plethora of standardisation initiatives, b) Challenges of Maintenance and Complexity, c) Challenges from UE prospective d) ENISA approach and Action, e) ETSI CEN-CENELEC Cyber Security Coordination Group (CSCG) and f) ETSI ESI “Algopaper” , g) SMEs & Security Standards.

Mr. Chris shared updates covering

a) Cyber Essentials – 10 steps to Cyber Security, 70 Controls, b) ISO 27001/70 controls, c) NIST/90 controls

and Mr Marc shared updates on;

a) Future Challenges for Standards and possible Approaches, b) The Logic Framework of the NCS, Session gave a valuable insight to EU work on this subject.
